EA has released a new set of screenshots for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and they are a rather nice sight to behold. Below you will find close-ups of the men in the game, a beard, massive weaponry, and some really nice lighting. Game’s out October 26.

The footage they showed looked like standard linear modern shooter shite tbh. I quite enjoyed the cloak and dagger feel they had in the 1st game, it’ll be a big disappointment if they’ve gone all shooty shooty bang bang to the max.

They showed another shooter, in close proximity to a lot of other shooters!

The problem is going to be made all the worse for MoH, this time, because Battlefield 3 is trying to be all things to everybody. So, you no longer get a case where Battlefield goes tactics and mid-long specialist, while Medal of Honor acts more to try to tackle CoD in its own backyard. How does Warfighter not live up to that name, when it’s released, with the series already partially on the backfoot, after a less than dazzling overall initial reception?

I liked the door-breach mechanic, the options that it showed you could order the AI to execute, but…Once they burst through the makeshift door, you just get a very CoD-esque slow-mo gun everybody down thing. My initial interest was in seeing a more close-quarters, reserved, pressured, urban, character-led (etc) sort of shooter. But, from what I read, that didn’t happen. After I learned that it was another run n gun, I dropped it like a rock.
