Dead Island: Riptide announced, more info coming this summer

Deep Silver’s announced a Dead Island sequel, subtitled Riptide.

Coming again from Techland, it’ll launch on PC and consoles.

No details on the story or timeline was given for its release, though. Deep Silver’s promised more information for sometime this summer.

The original Dead Island launched last September on PS3, 360 and PC.

Yes! Really liked the last one, despite its flaws.

@2 Hold on… Your statement about borderlands 2 was just to get attention or something right? Because your completely wrong…

Anyway, this is going to be interesting. The original had some serious flaws but it’s potentional was still very much present. I hope this smoothens the experience out more.

@4 Well for me, Borderlands and Dead Island share similarity, and I get impression then Borderlands 2 didn’t show anything new from the first game.

^ Apart from all the new stuff you mentioned, plus new inventory system, new gun designs, and character integration…. Nothing changed at all!!

Games that use a second title instead of numerical increments just sound like knock off expansion packs.

Worst of all has to be ridge racer unbounded. What sort of stupid ass American-English is ‘unbounded’?

@6: If that’s enough for you to call it a sequel, okay, fine. But for me personally, i don’t see anything that couldn’t have been done with a huge addon.

@8

You talking about Borderlands 2 now or the new Dead Island?

@8 New character classes, new storyline, engine improvements, blah blah blah… Are you stupid or just greedy, to want all of that stuff in an expansion pack? Just think of it as a $60 standalone DLC if it bothers you that much.
