Saints Row 4 pops up on artist’s resume

Wednesday, 16th May 2012 14:08 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Saints Row 4 has surfaced on the LinkedIn resume of artist David Payne, where it states he was the lead prop and weapon artist for the title.

The resume, brought to our attention by a tweet from Superannuation, shows Payne has been working on the Saint’s Row series since its second offering, and he’s currently working on the stand alone expansion to SR: The Third, Enter the Dominatrix.

If the resume entry is correct, the game is slated for current-gen consoles.

Back in November, THQ’s Danny Bilson told X-Play Volition was already working on Saints Row 4.

“I already know what Saint’s Row 4 is about, and it is wilder than this one,” he said. “It’s a good example of how you take what you have and you say, ‘What can happen in the next?’”

Last night, during its financial call to investors, THQ announced the Saints Row franchise has shipped 11 million units world wide, and Saints Row: The Third had shipped 4.25 million units.

There was a post on here or some other news website I go on, that Saints row 4, along with a few other games had been confirmed to be for next gen consoles and they had already started working on this before the release of Saints row the Third. Plus with the Saints games, they take an average of 2yrs to be made.

So @1 This wont be out anytime near GTA V

I think what this site needs to realise the game that might come out this gen, would be that Stand alone game where the Saints leader (you) has been kidnapped and put into some computer thing which makes him believe he is still in the city, yet everything around him is controlled. A big DLC, or disc based for SR3 like Undead nightmare was to Red dead

I don’t think you should compare the two really. Both very different, GTA has gone down the more realistic and serious route. Saints Row wants to be just over the top fun. Both do very well at what they do. I like both.

@2 If you look at the resume – lists both Saints Row 4 and enter the Dominatrix separately.

It also listed SR4 for the following platforms: “XBox360, PS3 & PC” – if it was for next-gen he may or may not have been at liberty to mention it.

However, since current gen was listed, current gen was posted.

@7 Stay dude, it was a lot better.

GTA IV was impressive technically, but it was never about having fun. It was about recreating the most tedious sides of everyday living, and wrapping it in a boring, social realistic plot, that went completely out of its way to be underplayed. It was like they tried to make The Wire into a videogame, but failed to realize it would be boring as shit, and way beyond the capability of their writers.

I’m fully expecting to be doing laundry, and making sure I call my grandmother at least once a week in the next one.

(I’m kidding, I hope they’ve realized just how wrong they were with GTA IV, but until they prove that, Saints Row 3 has them beat easily)

And before you say anything, two words:

    Tiger, convertible.

    Or

    Burt, Reynolds.

    Or

    Zombie, outbreak.

    Or

    Stripper, henchwomen.

I wish Volition would go back to their Parallax routes and make a Descent style game.
