Rockstar details Max Payne 3 DLC, first pack arrives in June
Rockstar has announced its downloadable content plans for Max Payne 3, as well as a new Rockstar DLC Pass.

New “multiplayer maps, modes, bursts, items, playable characters, challenges and more,” will be available to purchase in the coming months on PSN, XBL and PC.
“The story of Max Payne 3 begins in the single-player game and crosses over into the deepest multiplayer experience we’ve ever created,” said Rockstar founder, Sam Houser. “We intend to support the Max Payne community with new and innovative content well into the future.”
The first Max Payne 3 map pack called Local Justice arrives in June and features the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes.
The pack will also feature two additional maps for each mode as well as new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more.

That would be a great deal if all the person cared about was the MP. I plan on just playing single player.

Game isn’t out. Announce some DLC. OK.

Wait, so the game isn’t even released, and they’re talking about DLC?
And what the hell is with this support, they only release multiplayer packs as DLC, why not a SP one, or something? That’s the same thing they did with Red Dead Redemption: release one expansion pack and plenty of useless multiplayer skins, as “DLC packs”
.

This pre-release DLC announcement trend must end. I feel it’s almost insulting to the consumer.

Seeing how well Red Dead Redption has done with the inclusion of DLC is it wrong of them to do it again? People have no qualms with DLC and the trend will not be going anywhere. Buy it or don’t the result is the same. Rockstar making a buttload of cash.

Bullshit like this is what makes more and more people ditch traditional gaming and turn to other platforms. And thats coming from someone who absolutely hates iOS etc.

The issue here is not DLC.
It’s DLC being announced public months prior to the games release date.

I’m keeping my collector’s edition preorder but I’m not buying any DLC till the GoTY/Ultimate edition comes out. Also all the DLC is online that is lame.

at least the game is “complete”, as in you dont need DLC for the whole story to unfold.
so who cares about multiplayer really…
