Just so fucking awesome. And that secret message yesterday was great, what other developer does that? Add 3 to 4 hours gameplay to a chapter (because fans thought the certain chapter was short) and not charging extra for it?

Not the flashiest trailer, but it does emphasize the writing.
“Bow low, you stand before a head crowned”
Man, there’s a great future ahead for those writers.

Ok. Can anyone compare this game to Skyrim? I’m interested in this game, but not sure if it’s for me.

@6 – It isn’t openworld. Well, the bits I played of it weren’t.

@6 Unlike Skyrim it’s more mature, story driven, has better graphics and will last you between 30-35 hours.

@6 Sure, it’s nothing like Skyrim
@8 Boobs and swearing don’t necessarily mean the game is mature. It’s a good game though.

@9: It’s more mature, not because of boobs and swearing but because boobs and swearing have a bigger purpose than just entertainment. It fits the dark narrative of the Witcher 2.

@9 mongbatsar of course they don’t…in this game they are only a “side dish.”

@9 Personally I’d bring out the fact that it has politics and choices that actually require thought, beyond simply deciding whether you want to wear a white hat or a black one.
It doesn’t hold your hand in combat either. It’s the intelligence and consequence that makes it mature, and it goes a bit further than box-ticking.
Although I’d say the fact that it has actual sex rather than just toothless body-rubbing makes it more mature, easy.

@7 It really isn’t much of an open world, but it makes up for it by breaking from linearity with its choice system.
@12 Your mentioning the choices just saved me a lot of typing, but I’ll add that choices can potentially affect both short-term (typically your immediate situation) and long-term (maybe so far as multiple chapters down the line). The choices in Witcher games usually fall into a gray area, with options fitting into the world and its lore, each offering benefits and trade-offs without a Light/Dark, Paragon/Renegade system to speak of or rely on.
Also, as a further thought on the combat, I’d say combat is more akin to Batman: Arkham Asylum/City than an Elder Scrolls game.
Edit: Seconding @8. The Witcher 1 looked pretty good for its time, but The Witcher 2 is absolutely beautiful.

Is the open world bit on this game kinda like mass effect?

@16 I would say that it is more open than ME.
