Sony unveils ‘World In Play’ PS Vita EU ad campaign

Sony’s unveiled the European advertising campaign for PlayStation Vita ahead of the handheld’s launch next week.

Known as World in Play, the minute-long TV ad shows, at first, normal everyday situations from normal people before descending into game-like scenarios like a football match, a battleground and boxing match to name a few.

Get the video below.

PlayStation Vita launches on February 22 in Europe and the US.

3 glimpses of the product they actually want you to buy.The first 2 were about 1 second long and the last was about 3 seconds and the advert is 1 minute in duration.I dont get adverts like that, you can’t tell me if someone didn’t know a thing about the Vita then that would make them buy one.

@1: It’s more about telling the concept. “You can take your PS3-like gaming experience with you on places like the beach, a trainstation, the train or the dentist.” (Most places where you have to wait for something)

That’s pretty much it. The product will advertise itself enough through other ads where you see the actual gaming. (And not just people who say “Wow… It’s 3D!” I don’t kno if you had those horrible TV ads in GB as well xD)

That’s decent that is. Good production values and a obviously had a fair amount of cash chucked at it.

i really hate where sonys marketing went this gen. it is terrible imo. “the WORLD is in play”. “MAKE. BELIEVE”…all that superduper pseudocool elitist crap for the egocentric 20+ generation? turned me off completeley, but it probably isnĀ“t made for me anyway…

Well, there’s no PSV game with a Normandy scene in it, or a boxing game as far as I know… so Soccer it is! Can’t wait to see the kids complaining over those minor omissions.

And they didn’t mention the words “PlayStation” or “Vita” not once.
