The Last of Us screens show human enemies, evironments

Wednesday, 8th February 2012 21:31 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Shots from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us have surfaced over on AGB. We’re assuming since Game Informer has month-long coverage of the game, the shots came from the outlet. It’s hard to know, considering AGB doesn’t list the source, and the shots are without a watermark. But they are posted below anyway. If they are actual scans, which is how we’re leaning, we’ll remove the shots if asked and just leave the link. The Last of Us will be released sometime in late 2012 or early 2013 on PS3.

Judging by the quality, these look like they might be cropped from the scans. They dont look official, thats for sure.

@6 I just love the fact that everyone complains about zombie games but when ND make one its the best zombie game in the world

@9: No one complains about zombie games. In fact, whenever a zombie game is announced everyone celebrates it. But the problem is, that there were alot of them and not all were good in the last few years. Especially one game last year had pretty much hype and turned out to be … not as good.
But when Naughty Dog makes a game, it is always on a very high level in quality and gameplay.
So of course everyone is happy. Plus alot of people vere wishing for a decent serious title with a topic related to zombies. Two birds with one stone.

look like one is trying to rape the girl…if so, i’ll pass the game.

@16: Why would you pass on a game that looks like this? You can play a mass murder with GTA IV but you can’t deal with rape in videogames?

    “gameplay looks fun too”

    Have they shown any gameplay?

Can’t tell much from these screens – Can’t say I love the prospect of ‘protect the AI partner’ gameplay though. It’s like the worst type of mission, stretched out for a whole game :-/

@17 Yes, you can but you have not to.

Why? Because trash/horror/splatter movies are going a new way and its raping (f.e Spit on your grave) and child porn (Serbsk movie) and now they will mirror that on games. Its already in TV-Series too. Its right what you say, I play Call of Juarez: TC atm on PS3(i know not a blockbuster, but new for 7 € is nice) and you are a cop on the loose, but I enjoy it to kill drug dealers and human dealers. Not to watch little girls get raped and thinking OMG OMG the whole time. I enjoy to play games with something like that, because in the real world I have to watch how China and Russia do a veto against help for Syria (where children get killed, woman get raped and ppl are tortured) U know what I mean. Good. Call me a pussy, butthurt or something else, but I dont take it for granted to enjoy luxuries like freedom, fresh water, health insurance and my toys (which were built by ppl who cannot even afford that stuff).

Sorry, I will stop with that politcal stuff in the future. dont want to be a Spaßbremse.

@19: I doubt Last of Us would show that, they could definitely touch it, but NT aren’t usually the torture porn guys. I’d love the game to have a more serious tone, without trying to be “The Road” (Fucking hell, that movie depressed the fuck out of me, but also worked without any rape).

“dont want to be a Spaßbremse.”

    Zu spät.

I understand what you’re saying, but i can’t help but roll my eyes every time i read something like that. Things like this always happen, just can’t help but feel disgusted when countries like the US are suddenly pissed about that, since they usually didn’t just watch, but encouraged a behaviour like this in the past.

@18 Well some screenshots seems to be gameplay, it’s not much, but I have high hopes :)

#19 True dat about stupid russians and chinese, how come they don’t realize noble NATO is fighting to establish peace and harmony for everyone. Just look at how much they did for the libyans, now it’s Ashad, after Iran and then it’s Moscow, innit. Then we’ll have United States of the World with all of the eastern potential and real superpowers turned into the likes of Mongolia.

It’s not like NATO soldiers ever raped anyone, no.

I Spit on Your Grave is one of many many rape/revenge movies from the 70s its nothing new, its just Hollywood continuing to eat its own tail. A Serbian Film however is a blip, its pushed to such an extreme for the sake of being extreme, very little will be inspired by it, much like Sado in the past.
