Deus Ex: HR tops Amazon’s digital chart for 2011

On its top-ten bestsellers lists for 2011, Amazon noted a strong digital performance from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 predictably took top honours in the physical release ranks.

Modern Warfare 3 was far less popular on the digital side, but rival Battlefield 3 performed well in both realms.

While multiplatform titles appear on both lists the digital chart plays host to a number of PC-exclusives, as well as titles more strongly favoured by PC gamers than their console kin, like Crysis 2.

The retailer released both lists to Joystiq, and you can look over them below.

Physical (all platforms, collector’s editions are not included)

  1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  2. Just Dance 3
  3. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  4. Battlefield 3
  5. Batman: Arkham City
  6. Madden NFL 12
  7. Portal 2
  8. Just Dance 2
  9. Gears of War 3
  10. FIFA Soccer 12
    Digital

  1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  2. Battlefield 3
  3. The Sims 3
  4. Battlefield Bad Company 2
  5. Sid Meir’s Civilization V
  6. Dead Island
  7. Total War: Shogun 2
  8. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
  9. Crysis 2
  10. Dragon Age 2

@1 – That is something that Uncharted didn’t make it. Everyone talks big about consoles sold/shipped, but the real concern should be what platform sells the most games.
I’m very very happy Deus Ex:Hr did so well for Eidos. What an amazing game from a new team. I am soooo looking forward to Thief 4.
(and I would love another Deus Ex. The games haven’t covered Paul much, he was an agent before JC, a new game on his story and how he converted to the NSF would be awesome)

Deus Ex sold well on amazon because they somehow were selling it for 10 to 20 bucks cheaper than even steam was selling it for.. I remember they had the digital edition up for 10 bucks… even steams holiday sale didnt price it that cheap.

@1, 2, I wouldn’t get my panties too wet about it ladies, the only xbox exclusive that made the list came in at no.9, was released in a quieter release window and had over a months worth of a head start.
