Rumour: Namco, From Software planning Dark Souls DLC

DLC content for Dark Souls is inbound from Namco Bandai and From Software, EGM is reporting.

The pack is being prepped for release sometime in Q1 2012, and could be named Yama No Mori - Forest of Darkness or Dark Forest in English - following a trademark filing by From late last year.

No more details were mentioned.

If DLC were to happen, this'd come as a big surprise considering past statements given by From Software and Namco Bandai.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game's director, said there was no post-launch content being planned, but teased the team could do something if there were interesting opportunities using online functionality and the Dark Souls engine.

It may explain why UK marketing director Lee Kirton was silent on the subject back in September in an interview with VG247 before the game's launch.

Dark Souls launched in October last year for PS3 and 360.
