Analyst: SWTOR to sell 3 million, current player count peaking at 350,000

Baird Equity Research analyst Colin Sebastian has said the concurrent users number for Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently peaking at 350,000 players.

"We view the early success of Star Wars as an indication of a healthy MMO market," Sebastian said in a note, as reported by GameSpot.

"While there is likely some shifting of usage from [Activision's] World of Warcraft, we see a viable market for multiple million-user MMOs in the US and Europe. With more than 1 million registered online users, we see roughly one-third (or roughly 350K) representing peak concurrent usage."

EA said over the holiday break that 1 million users had signed up for the BioWare MMO since it launched on December 20, with over 60 million hours played in-game since.
