PixelJunk Sidescroller to release this week

Q-Games finally has a release date for its latest gloriously 2D effort.

A post on the EU PS Blog reveals Pixeljunk Sidescroller is expected in the European PlayStation Network with this week’s update on October 26; the US will see it on October 25.

Sideshooter is a spin-off of PixelJunk Shooter, developing bonus stage The Road to Dawn into a full title. It features upgradable weapons, boss encounters, and a nagging feeling that you should be dropping coins in every few minutes.

The PixelJunk series includes Racers, Monsters, Eden, Shooter, Shooter 2 and the forthcoming 4 AM. It is widely recognised for its tight retro gameplay and beautiful HD visuals, and is a PlayStation Network exclusive.
