New adaptation of XIII due November

French publisher Anuman Interactive has announced a new adaptation of comic XIII, last seen as an Ubisoft-published shooter during the PS2 era.

A teaser revealed the new game; no details are given beyond a November release on iPhone, iPad, Mac and PC and a brief mention of the origins of the conspiracy.

Based on a Belgian comic, the cel-shaded 2003 version was probably best known for its voice work, starring The X-Files David Duchovny.

XIII’s amnesiac hero has also turned up in an NBC series, and the comic is still an ongoing affair.

Thanks, 1UP.

Oh, wow. I absolutely loved XIII, the game. Gutted they never made the sequel it so subtlely hinted at (“TO BE CONTINUED…”). Wonder what this is gonna be, and if it’ll be cell-shaded. That was the one thing that made XIII such an atmospheric beauty, IMO.

I recently picked up the original on the xbox and totally loving it. When I read this title I thought this was really nice timing getting into the first until I realised it wasn’t a sequel..

Think how good a up to date cel shaded comic looking fps game would look.
