SCEE: Only on PSN for US, “majority of content” EU bound
SCEE’s told VG247 this morning that the newly-announced campaign for PlayStation Network, Only on PSN, is for SCEA only, but confirmed a “majority of content” from the promo is still coming to Europe.

“The Only On PlayStation Network programme is for the SCEA region only,” said SCEE in a statement via email this morning.
“However, we will be bringing the majority of the content to the SCEE audience, including Classic PS2 titles. We have numerous exciting offers that we will be introducing to PSN users throughout our region in the lead up to Christmas and look forward to sharing these with you.”
Beginning this week from tomorrow, and onwards for every Tuesday, Only on PSN will see exclusives release on PSN that have been made via the publisher’s “Pub Fund,” the first being Eufloria and Rochard.
Next week will feature Okabu and Rocketbirds, while the week after will see the release of the vampire expansion for inFamous 2, Festival of Blood, and PixelJunk Sidescroller.
But the main point will also be the release of classic PS2 titles onto PSN. These titles include God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red.
PS Plus subs will get a 20 percent discount on each game they buy from the promotion, while those who spend $60 on content throughout PSN will get $10 credit for November.
Thanks. Eurogamer.

If they released Okami, that would mark first purchase from the PSN store – I think it’s the only uncompleted-but-good game I left on PS2 (the other one’s FFXII, but that won’t get finished).

@3 I doubt it. This will probably be pure emulation, nothing more.
So much for their bullshit claims the newer machines couldn’t do this. I assume in that case that this means PS2 backward compatibility will be reinstated on all machines then. For free.
This will be nice for titles people might now have gotten in the previous generation, but my 100+ PS2 games collection is sitting pretty comfortably next to my BC PS3, so there’s probably very little I won’t have.
What I’m *really* hoping for is that these will be playable on the Vita. *That* would definitely convince me to download some of these.

Thank goodness I have a US PSN account and doubly thank goodness that by proxy, i’m not really affected by their shitty business decisions.
