Apple adjusts international App pricing

During recent downtime, Apple adjusted its international iTunes and App Store pricing, bringing other territories more closely in line with the US.

MacRumors reports Apple made the change to reflect current exchange rates.

Of particular note is the adjustment of Australian pricing. The Australian dollar has climbed so strongly that Apple saw fit to reduce prices by around 16 percent at the lowest tier. Japan and Switzerland also saw decreases.

On the other side of the balance, the pound sterling's slip against international benchmarks saw UK prices increase 16 percent, with Mexico and Norway seeing increases too.

According to MacStories, pricing is still not completely equitable, with Australian and Swiss consumers still paying significantly more than the US, and Mexico forking out slightly less. Hit the link to see the charts.

Below you'll find a table showing changes made to the bottom tier of app pricing; similar adjustments have been made at higher tiers.

  • UK: £0.59 -> £0.69
  • Australia: AU$1.19 -> AU$0.99
  • Japan: 115 -> 85 Yen
  • Mexico: $10 -> $12
  • Switzerland: 1.10Fr -> 1.00Fr
  • Norway: 6.00Kr -> 7.00Kr
