Burnout Crash coming next month, confirms EA
EA’s confirmed that Burnout Crash will launch next month. The top-down, downloadable game from Criterion – the studio’s first download game – was previously confirmed for just an autumn date. Now it’s coming near the tail-end of summer instead. Everybody wins.
Crash, based on the crash mode that was introduced in Burnout 3: Takedown, will release on PSN and XBLA, the latter having Kinect support.

“Everybody wins”.
No. Nobody wins. Except the easily pleased and the PR kool-aid drinking hive-mind.
This is precisely what fans of the series and those who clamoured for the crash mode in the first place DIDN’T want.

Idiot.
The hive mind says “dis is teh worst burnout EVAR”, and people believe it.
Have you played it? No? Wow, I’m surprised.
Until I play it, I’ll go on Criterion’s existing pedigree, which has been awesome.

Crash Mode was first in Burnout 2 : Point of Impact before B3

Looks fun. Almost as fun as watching the initial outpour of nerd rage.

Gameplay footage is here if you folks want to take a peek:

Still not my thing given what we were expecting/should have got, but I guess it’ll be solid enough given the developer behind it.
Would also be a great candidate for iOS/Android if I do say so myself.

I saw some footage on Giant Bomb. The game looked dire.
