Ocarina of Time 3D sells to 20% of UK 3DS owners

Just over a week after release, the 3D remake of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been reported to have sold to a fifth of all British 3DS owners.

Those figures are according to GfK Chart-Track, as reported by MCV.

As impressive as the number is, it's also worth remembering that the 3DS has so far experiencing sales that Nintendo itself considers "disappointing."

Nintendo has never said how many 3DS units have been sold in the UK so far.

Nintendo is hoping for a natural boost to come during the Summer months which they say is always helpful for handheld gaming.

"We generally find that summer time is a good time for handheld gaming and we have lots of sampling and summertime events to get more people hands on with it -- that leads us nicely up to all that great content coming out," said Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton.

The Zelda remake release in Europe on June 17, entering the UK chart at second, dropping back to sixth position this week.

3DS itself released on March 25.
