Shinobi revival to be revealed in next Nintendo Power

Nintendo Power has confirmed it is to reveal a 3DS Shinobi reboot in its next issue.

Long-buried hopes were awakened overnight when Superannuation posted mention of a 3DS Shinobi title on a Griptonite Games environmental artist’ resume.

The resume and even a screen grab of it have since been shut down, but mention of “hand painted and photo referenced textures” was reported.

IGN‘s posting of an upcoming Nintendo Power collaborated Super’s evidence prior to the magazine’s confirmation.

If a 3DS incarnation doesn’t grab you, maybe Griptonite’s usual role as portable developer for multi-platform releases will. Major platform Shinobi game inbound? Please.

The venerable Sega property has been dormant since a PS2 revival, the second and last of which released in 2004.
