Report: Next CoD is Project Collossus, out November 8

Eurogamer’s rumouring that the next Call of Duty game is being tagged internally by UK retailer Tesco as a November 8 launch.

The company is apparently listing the title as Call of Duty: Project Collossus.

This is expected to be Modern Warfare 3, supposedly being joint-developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer.

Activision Blizzard announces its financial results for for the full-year and Q4 tonight. A company conference call starts at 9.30pm UK time.

nov 8 makes total sense CoD has always released on the second tuesday of november since MW2

lets be optimistic , they may have changed the engine , IW hasnt worked on anything for almost 2 years , they didnt even keep up with mw2.

ill give COD another chance

@4 I’ll be very interested to see what they produce after driving away so many of their staff. I’m sure capable people have filled their ranks but its going to have some sort of effect. I would be very surprised if they change their engine in any significant way at this point.

They even said about 3 months ago they aren’t going to change their engine. It’s also worth noting Black Ops used an older revision than MW2 did for some reason. Though the games don’t look top of the line, they sit at the 60fps as much as humanly possible, which is what they want, as do the fans clearly.

I think Sledgehammer is basically managing most of the game and taking over the lead roles, IW and Raven are doing the actual production between them. I’d imagine Certain Affinity will also be helping out and anyone else not doing anything else, like Nerve and overflow Treyarch staff. Big yearly release games take a lot of studios to work on them these days.
