‘Project Cafe’ really needs to blow our socks off as right now the Wii is struggling bigtime and the 3DS isnt exaclty setting the heather alight. Think people are just starting to get fed up with the same old games re-released by Nintendo – they do great hardware innovation but have zero innovation when it comes to software.

Bad Nintendo numbers, and project cafe sounds lame, and it will fail big time, people are fed up Nintendo and always were sick of them from the start why can’t they just die or something. Can’t wait till Miyamoto dies or retires. They suck at everything.

I’m not sure if Project cafe will blow us away. To blow us away there must be more then just an iPad wireless controller.

Graphics are going to be better (or maybe not, just every multiplatform in solid 720p or 1080p with Nintendo first party)

@4 you can be 101.1% sure it wont blow you away it will most likely make every true gamer sick since it will be that bad. Graphics will be out dated as soon as it’s released so why does Nintendo bother?!

@4 I’m sure it wont blow us away – but if they want to succeed they really NEED to. I mean if they come out and say ‘Look HD Mario, Look HD Zelda’ then so what?????

Thats what PC’s, Xboxs and PS3′s have been doing for years (HD that is not Zelda and mario).

And then a year after its out and the new xbox and playstaion come out the wii will just look dated again.

And it needs to be at a sweet price point, because as the 3DS has shown, the nintendo casual crowd are just that – casual and wont fork out big for hardware, if it costs more that £220 – then they can forget it.

    RIP Tendo!

Agreed. While I am sure a fair few Nintendo fans would go fucking gaga over the next Zelda/Mario/Metroid being in 1080p/60fps, there needs to be some sort of other innovation to anchor the device in the hearts and minds of everyone else.

@6 Tendo were dead to begin with, they’ve always been out dated compared to their competitors ;) they can never please anyone no more. 3DS has to be at £90.00 or normal people wont fuck with them.

This is a pretty bad week for hardware all around and what is with PSP shortages in Japan. I mean really it’s the only market that has shortages – then again they could be prepping for the NGP manufacture and it could also be the earthquake.
3DS numbers are pretty low considering it’s the first week with 2 major releases and it’s still a decline. I’m guessing it’ll stabilise somewhere in the 20ks.

@6,7, Well, Miyamoto said that he wanted to create new IP. So maybe he is hard at work with the new HD console.

    + Pikmin is in development.

But i still think that even with the new iP i can’t be blown away unless every Nintendo game is an Uncharted looking game.
For example RETRO Studios can create some damn great experience with Metroid Prime making from it a great First Person Shooter.

+ if they want to succeed there needs to be a decent first party and third party lineup because Sony and Microsoft is well packed with software.
They have the advatage is that it’s not commpletely new hardward to develop for. I mean they probably made the same machine as Xbox 360 architecture for development with better graphics videocard in it.

Firstly, why isn’t SOMI perma-banned yet?
Secondly, I think this Wii successor won’t be in direct competition with Sony’s PS4 & MS’s Xbox successor but rather an attempt to steal market share before they’re launched, similar to the Microsoft with the 360 but this Wii successor will be marketed in a similar way to the Wii, it won’t be a powerhouse but it will be capable, it’s up to 3rd party developers how they use because Nintendo are notorious for their treatment of 3rd parties.

People only get banned here if there just cause constant disruption to every thread. Being a bit of a troll or just hating on Nintendo isn’t really something anyone is going to get banned for.

To me those sales just mean that the next gen needs to come sooner rather than later. Generally, everyone who wants a PS3, 360, Wii, DS or PSP will have got one by now. For 3DS it means it just needs games out people want, I’d say expect sales to be similar for the next few months until the catalogue has beefed up a little.

As far as Café is concerned, if Nintendo are being true to what they said last year about aiming the 3DS and their next consoles to core gamers, then I’d guess the new system would be aiming to launch the next gen earlier than Sony and MS were planning.
And as Chris Jack said just to grab a share of the market first. It’d need to be a powerhouse tho, just doin what PS3/360 do but a little nicer won’t cut it in the long run and won’t win over many 3rd party devs.

All he does is beg for Miyamoto, among other Nintendo employees, to die & that calls for an instant ban IMO. Any other moderated site would have by now, trolls like this are far worst than any spammer, at least they don’t offend anybody.
