Brink video feature and screens from “villain base”

Monday, 18th April 2011 15:00 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Bethesda took Johnny to Utah last week for the publisher’s E3 showcase, netting a huge amount of new in-game Brink footage, an interview with Splash Damage boss Paul Wedgwood and some new screens.

Check out the video below for masses of new action from Bethesda’s super-shooter, along with a chat with Paul in “James Bond’s villain base” on the top of an American mountain.

There’s a lot of stuff in there, so be sure to watch. There are some screens down below. We’ve got a written feature going live later in the week.

Brink lands in stores on May 10 in the US and on May 13 in the EU. Shit looks sick, yo.

Funny how they said that PC version alone won’t be enough because they are using big budget. But so far bad marketing(never said how many maps, mods will game have+trailers are very rare) graphic, interface, running, weapon sound…so average + No actual SP,instead it is going to be with BOT.
I really wish them luck but i don’t see game to have (big)success.
Actually that is why is game gone multiplatform…because game is going to sell poorly on all platform.

    Shit looks awesome.

@3 There have been numerous trailers, developer walkthroughs and interviews posted online. Learn to work YouTube, man.

I also don’t recall any developer outlining every piece of content they put in the game through trailers, ever. They’ve shown quite a lot of the container city and the terminal, as well as the custimization and the freerunning, which is pretty much what you’d expect from a showcase.

I’d rather have a game with no singleplayer, than a token campaign that falls flat, and takes the focus away from what’s really important.

Maybe you just need to get that bloodsugar up, eh?

Wow, like half a notch below shouting there Mr Game Designer man.

HD video of the game would’ve been nice. Looks pretty shitty in that vid although I know it looks a lot better in HD.

The original files were 720p, I think. It does look awesome in HD. It’ll be better next time.

Am I right in saying this is VG247′s first video ever feature? If so, well done, well done.

Liking the minimalist titling and simple transitions. Though, as freedomstain suggests, the vid would have been a LOT better in HD.

Would also have been nice if there was some voice-over narration by Johnny or Pat interspersing with bits of the interview – Johnny Minkley style. Just a suggestion for possible future video stuff.

Didn’t watch the whole thing, the quality is just horrible :’( But it doesn’t change anything, already looking forward to give brink a twist. Anyone here getting it for 360, I need some people because I don’t have a lot of buddys who preordered it :/

@8 It’s not the first video interview we’ve done – we have done it before, look at the stuff we did at Develop two years ago – but we are looking to move towards it more.

Yes, it’s the first time we’ve used a video feature like this, though. Make no mistake, this is new to us doing video interviews like this, but we’re definitely going to stick with it for the near future at least. It’ll take time for us to adjust in making videos, I’m not gonna lie – we’re not pro video editors – but you should definitely start looking towards this kind of thing in the future.
