Videos – Mortal Kombat launch party, Sonya Blade in action
Mortal Kombat is out Tuesday in the US, and to celebrate the game’s launch, a party was held in Hollywood and Gamespot was there. You can watch highlights from the event below, as well as check out a very “bouncy” gameplay trailer featuring Sonya Blade.
The Gamespot video not only includes the game’s creator and director Ed Boon, but some other familiar faces as well as the cast of live-action web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Jeri Ryan for the win and all that.
Mortal Kombat is out ion April 21 in the UK.

@ True true. Still, I don’t like the new Sonya’s model. They should have based it on MK3 version
Edit: Also, the party footage is definitely new and the highlight reel is just what doc ordered for me to keep my sanity till 21th.

I think it’s pretty cool how they actually get more and more beat up as the fight goes on (aesthetically I mean). You can really see it in the animations too; I’m surprised I’ve never seen it done before.

Soul Calibur 4 did have some damage and cloth dropping but the T rating was really limiting. Same goes for MK vs DC.
I really REALLY hope they start making more M rated fighters soon. I mean, we have SF, Soul Calibur, MvC, King of Fighters and many other fantastic fighting games but only one M rated game. Seriously, only one fighter with violence. It’s kinda like the opposite of FPS market where almost every game is M rated now and only one game like Brink is T (Which is stupid IMO. M rated games FTW!).

The animations look great!
Mortal Kombat has always been the fighting game to go to if you can’t be arsed with memorising combo, after combo in Street Fighter. But it still has a ton of depth.
I played the demo for hours, thinking I was doing swell. Then I see the promo video, see the insane combos pulled in that, and sigh.
