Valve and Square Enix have announced that those who pre-purchase Dungeon Siege III through Steam will be handed free single-player digital copies Dungeon Siege I and II for immediate play.

In addition, all PC versions of the action-RPG will include Steamworks features including auto-updating, Achievements, Steam Cloud support, and downloadable content.

“Providing Dungeon Siege I and Dungeon Siege II free of charge through Steamworks is Square Enix’s way of showing appreciation to the fans of the Dungeon Siege franchise,” said David Hoffman, executive producer for Dungeon Siege III in the press release.

“Selecting Steamworks to be integrated into the upcoming title made perfect sense as we wanted to provide the best possible gameplay experience for PC gamers and long-standing fans of the series.”

Dungeon Siege III is out on June 17 in the UK and June 21 in the US for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
