343: Halo Wars a “success”, sequel currently not planned
343 Industries boss Frankie O’Connor has said that Ensemble RTS Halo Wars was a “huge success”, but insists work on a sequel has not begun.

“The funny thing about Halo Wars is it actually beat our sales forecasts, so it was a bigger success than we expected,” O’Connor told CVG.
“It was a big critical success and it’s still the number one selling RTS on consoles this generation.”
But while nothing is planned right now, if a sequel were to happen, Kinect support could be considered.
“In that regard it was a huge success but is the will to do a sequel there? Who knows. We could do something that works on Kinect, for example. There’s no will against it but we’re not working on it right now.”
Halo Wars released in February 2009 for Xbox 360. It was to become Ensemble’s last game in development before dissolving.

Blablabla, that’s not much worth for Ensemble Studios now, is it?

It was a game released in 2009 with the word “Halo” in the title, so yes, it would have been a success.

@4 exactly. A bag full of shit with the words “Halo” would sell if it had the usual financial marketing it always vomits out for that francise.
Bout time it’s dead an buried.

Gran Turismo or Final Fantasy would sell similarly, why does it matter when the game is good.
and Red Alert had plenty of marketing, yet for some reason it didn’t succeed.
could you elaborate on how exactly Halo Wars was bad? Ensemble were excellent devs, I still think MS made a mistake closing them.
