Del Toro’s Insane announced, releases in 2013

insane

Guillermo del Toro’s new game is called Insane. It’s out in 2013.

It’s being made by THQ’s Volition studio. Not much else was revealed. Doesn’t even confirm if it’s sci-fi-based like rumour suggested.

That’s it. Teaser’s below.

The announcement of the game served as confirmation of a partnership between Del Toro and THQ after previous speculation and even confirmation from the former himself.

inSANE’s font looked very much like inFAMOUS’ font.

Del Toro was a fucking CLASS ACT on stage, I can’t wait to see this title.

I’m hoping the game turns out to be a mind fuck, something Suda and Mikami’s horror title is lacking.

Sci-fi? No way. Many rumors were suggesting this will be a Lovecraftian game, and the trailer really reflected this. del Toro is a huge Lovecraft fan.

del toro was one of the best parts of last night but this was truly an awful reveal

@1 Clearly if you think Suda and Mikami’s game needs more horror, then you don’t understand what it’s about and what they’re trying to achieve. Try watching Evil Dead 2, Braindead, From Dusk Till Dawn or Planet Terror and maybe you’ll understand it better.

Trailer is disappointing, not even a glimpse of what it will look like. Why do they spend so much on shitty little teasers like this? Still, can’t wait until we finally get to see what it looks like.

@9

Let me re-phrase.
*something Suda and Mikami’s horror title is lacking, for me.

I would much prefer something of Silent Hill’s ilk rather than House of the dead.

Quite! Now that Silent Hill appears to have gone down the toilet and Nintendo have annexed Project Zero/Fatal Frame into submission, it’s about time we had a new properly disturbing game series. But man, 2013′s a way off.
