Operation Flashpoint: Red River – first gameplay trailer, new shots

Tuesday, 23rd November 2010 11:31 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Codemasters has released the first gameplay footage of Operation Flashpoint: Red River. It involves guns.

You can watch the movie below. There are six new shots down there as well.

Out in Q2 2011, the game’s set in Tajikistan – “a strategically and politically important central Asian country bordered by both Afghanistan and China,” according to the publisher.

The video’s supposed to show “some of the many visual improvements which make this the best looking Operation Flashpoint game ever.”

Take a look and see what you think.

The screenshots look nothing like the gameplay graphics!

Not too surprising considering the lies Codies marketing department spouted about Dragon Rising :/

I think Bohemia Interactive now sitting and laughing their ass off.

Even Medal Of Honor 2010 graphics are better than this. The story already show it’s great and original premise about mighty and sexy USA! USA! USA! fighting and defending all the world against the Chinese group of idiots. (c) Tom Clancy as always.

Shame i will never see a game like Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis.

Bohemia Interactive makes great ArmA games but far from perfect. It’s a shame in this consolized era i won’t see a decent military SINGLEPLAYER shooter.

I hope that Homefront will deliver.

‘Protect America…..’ oh sigh….yeah what else. Getting so goddamn tired of that.

I’d much rather have a fictional country going against another fictional. Nice music though.

umm the graphics look better than mw2/black ops.. But i agree , they should majke a game where the americans are bad for once.

Pretty jingoistic trailer. It doesn’t exactly give anything away as to the changes they were planning though.

If people are getting tired playing as Americans, maybe it’s time to get out of gaming, and stop watching movies. That’s just how it’s always been, and for obvious reasons.

I’ve seen people crying about fighting Russians, Chinese and terrorists – So really, who should the enemy be? Moomin trolls? Sign me up.

fuck you guys this is gunna be the best game of 2011 and i dont get why people say that Bohemia Interactive operation flashpoint was better? how can it be better you seen how low it is on metacritic its a pile of shit and arma 2 how fucking glitchy is that game and how retarded is the CPU on it and the graphics on arma OMFG dont get me started on that all i can say as that the graphics on arma are so shit it gets away with being a wii game

@8 Not to mention the fact that Marek Spanel basically admitted that they didn’t really care about what they were doing when they made ArmA. It was all about cashing in on OFP.

Basically gaming is all about supporting the underdog today. Codemasters is the big evil corporation and Bohemia are the cute little czechs making games so big they generally don’t work very well. Bravo to them.

“why people say that Bohemia Interactive operation flashpoint was better?”

Because it’s better. Try to go prone on both games and you will see the difference and this is just one little simple example.

“why people say that Bohemia Interactive operation flashpoint was better? how can it be better you seen how low it is on metacritic”

Maybe you should first of all PLAY Cold War Crisis and than talk shit?

85 is BAD? 85 at that time was like in todays 95.
Bohemia know how to do it right and always knew it.

“OMFG dont get me started on that all i can say as that the graphics on arma are so shit it gets away with being a wii game”

I guess you don’t even have a RIG to run it on minimum req.
With latest addon game is patched and works perfectly.

Wii graphics? Show me one game with such graphics and so much grass.

Codemasters already forgot about it’s DRAGON Rising when there is no community at all. No mods at all. Nothing to do there.

ArmA II is already full of fucking awesome stuff:

and they still contrinue to support community and community makes tons of stuff.

“85 at that time was todays 95″ – Hahaha. Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Last time I checked, review scores aren’t tied to the currency markets. It was obvious to anyone how buggy it was back then, too.

Operation Flashpoint was amazing when it came out, though. It wasn’t amazingly built or designed, it was just a sandbox on a scale that hadn’t been seen before.

Sadly Bohemia have changed very, very little since then, and are basically selling their games on the fact that there are guys out there who are willing to create their content for them for free.

Personally I’d rather play Operation Flashpoint with the old realistic mods than I’d play ArmA. ArmA II is the first real improvement, but it’s still a mess.
