Rumour – FFXIII 360 hitting Japan this December, says Dengeki

According to an apparently leaked scan from the latest issue of Dengeki (via FinalFantasy.net), Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 is coming to Japan in an international version.

The title will supposedly launch in the country on December 16 – nearly a year to the day since it would have released on PS3 – and will feature an easy mode and English voiceovers.

Nothing else is mentioned.

The game launched in the west for PS3 and 360 back in March.

Pro-tip: if this is real, you’ll probably hear more tomorrow, as the new Famitsu is due out then.

We’ll drop Square an email, but don’t expect the unexpected.

If this is real it’ll no doubt be hitting PS3 as well, so once again I’m surprised that they’re even bothering.

I think thats why they won’t show FFXIII Versus in the public much.

Because they don’t want to overshadow Xbox 360 release :D

This rumour sounds a little bit off.The game doesn’t require easy mode,and i assume they mean it will include only English voiceovers and not both along with Japanese.if it’s both then the rumour really does sound off.

Really?
I doubt it.
If you’re Japanese and you really wanted to play FFXIII you would have had a PS3.
This will not sell in large numbers and as such would be an exercise in futility and a waste of distribution money.

Japanese who want the game would have bought it on PS3 already, I doubt many would have been so devout 360 loyalists that they’d miss out on it until it released on their console.

Didn’t the game have a bit of a hard time in Japan anyway? Wasn’t it lambasted for being too linear?

Seems pointless really. I guess MS might want it more to reinforce the idea that the 360 gets the big FF titles, too, but there are so many reasons not to do this – particularly if the 360 build is still sub-par to the PS3, that I think it would be better to simply let it go at this point.
