PS3 Blu-ray 3D firmware update hitting next month

Sony announced today at its IFA 2010 press event a firmware update for PS3, which will allow 3D Blu-ray playback.

It's set to arrive next month.

According to Engadget, it is expected around 30-days from now, putting it around October 1 if our limited calculations are correct.

Still, this should make those planning on purchasing Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and others in 3D, rather pleased.

Providing, of course, they own a 3D-capable television.
