Crysis 2 delayed into next year

EA’s just confirmed that Crysis 2 has been pushed into Q4 FY2011.

The push is mentioned in the company’s recently released financials.

Originally, the Crytek super-shooter was due for a release this holiday season, and in fact, had its release brought forward to autumn just before E3.

The game’s multiplayer is due to be shown in two weeks at gamescom at Crytek’s home turf in Cologne.

It’ll released on PS3, 360 and PC, and will also support 3D.

Those saying Q4 is until the end of March, yes it is, but March 2012. The post says FY2011, which is presumably a mistake.

No, it’s their 2011 financial year, which spans April 2010 to March 2011 (inclusive).

Num 1 was a tech demo…Acording to some of the press they have focused more on creating an over all better ‘game’ this time around…although I am sure that it will still be graphically impressive.

If this releases anywhere near Killzone 3, I won’t be buying it until it hits the discount bin. Killzone 3 is my most anticipated game of early 2011. Uncharted 3 for the latter part (I know)…Oh and I’m liking how Bulletstorm’s coming along. Oh and then there’s Infamous 2: will def get this one as well. Damn, I sure hope Crytek figures out a non obtrusive release date…

Oh its on. Crytek has been running their mouths for months and now is the time to truly see if a 3rd party dev can make a 3rd party game look better than a SONY 1st party game while still developing that game also for the 360.

Three things will either happen:

1. KZ3 will wipe the floor with Crysis 2 regardless anyway

or

2. The Crytek engine will make a 360 game exceed the graphics of a SONY 1st party game.

or

3. Crysis 2 will match the graphical quality of KZ3 but the 360 ver will be greatly inferior.

Damn I only wish RAGE was releasing at the same time so we could add that in here too. :D My money is on KZ3 and it having the better 3D tech also. I’ll be taking bets in the forum. All proceeds go to M$ for better tech in the NEXTBOX :P

Well that kind of goes without saying Blerk. I’m sure if a 360 title looks better than KZ3 it would still look better than any other PS3 game especially 3rd party ones seeing as how its even easy to develop for…

….but don’t hold your breathe. Even looking at the early screens of Gears3 should give you a glimpse into the future of XBOX 360 graphics from now on.
