I was already excited for this game, but this demo just blew it through the roof!

I had the opposite reaction.
I loved the look of the game but playing it frustrated me; the shooting felt weak and the cover system was fiddly.
The presentation and characters seem fantastic though.

Impressive.
They need to add heavier rumble to controller when firing weapons (presently feel weak), and fix that blocky/pixelated graphical look because it’s holding the game back IMO and is not needed. I also enjoyed the shaky camera effect and combat/cover system. Fresh twist on multiplayer as well. Dig the unique characters.
I’m interested.

I didn’t like it tbh.
The voices didnt seem to connect with the game.
Hard to explain what I mean but the whole thing didn’t do much for me.
In saying that I didn’t like the first one so am probably a bit biased.

It was ok. 60FPS is nice. Needs a bit tweaking though in gamplay and graphics. I’d rent this to give it a shot though. Hated the first one.

i’ll rent it, certainly an improvement on the first but:
the new aesthetic styling while good loses the appeal of the michael mann aesthetic of the original
and yeah the guns do seem very weak
i was going to buy it but i think i’ll just rent it now =/

Had a quick play earlier. I like the style and some of the effects. But didn’t like:
• Sprint effects felt a bit unruly
• Aiming seemed a bit hit and miss (no pun intended)
• Cover was a bit fiddly
• Hit square to pick up ammo in a distinctly Nate Drake style didn’t feel right. Was ok in uncharted was annoying on this
Would I buy? Dunno. Might try and scrounge off my mate at Eidos

This demo was a lot better than the first game. If/When I have the money I may actually get this I like the overall style of the game and it looks leaps and bounds better than the original even plays better too.

“the michael mann aesthetic of the original”
While that was present in the first, it’s hard to look at K&L2 and not to trace a link to Mann’s own use of camera in the Miami Vice film.

I just tried it. Its pretty basic really, nothing special but atleast its not bad. Hate the gfx style though, they’re obviously using it to make the games screen tearing and muddy textures more passable.

@11 – oh right, i’ll admit i aint seen miami vice. But it just seems to me like the whole gangster heist thing is seemingly missing. Then again i’d need to play the full story to know for sure bout that.

Aside from giving me a headache with all the glare and the shaking, there wasn’t really anything remarkable in that demo for me. But it didn’t seem as shit as the first game.
I think they should’ve spent that time on another Freedom Fighters.
