FFXIII for 360 in Japan? Xbox.com says yes

ffxiii6

Final Fantasy XIII staying PS3-exclusive in Japan? If Xbox.com has anything to say about it, don’t expect that to last too long.

An Achievements page for the RPG has turned up on the Japanese version of the Microsoft site, so read into that what you will.

The list hasn’t yet been pulled yet by Square Enix or Microsoft. You can get it here.

The game was announced as a PS3 exclusive in 2006 at E3, before it was announced in 2008 that it would be coming to 360 in the west at E3. It would, however, remain a PS3-only title in Japan.

Seems that no longer the case.

The western version launched back in March, selling 5.5 million units. The Japanese edition released in December.

Thanks, Andriasang.

Microsoft’s big push. I expect for 5 people to care.
Who wanted, already got it on PS3.

PS: Expect TGS big announcement ;)

I’m struggling to imagine just who they think will buy a 360 version now? Unless they’re doing an ‘international’ re-release (on both platforms) like they have in the past. Even then, everyone in Japan already bought it for the PS3 – why would they switch platforms for the remix?

It wouldn’t be a surprise if it was timed, really.

Personally, from a consumer viewpoint I think timed exclusives are the most ridiculous element of this gen so far.

They are simply a ‘denial of choice’ tactic that actively discriminates against the consumer, robbing them of choice for a period of time to try and force their choice a certain way.

In this case, I guess that will have worked well for Sony, as such a late release in Japan on a platform that is all but totally ignored is effectively meaningless.

It’ll be an international remix, with 4% new content. And a multi-format release.

Doubt this is going to happen, but if it does then whoever’s running the market analysis division of square’s a retard and should be fired.

I’m praying to God that Sakaguchi’s “The Last Story” owns in order to knock some sense back in to Square.

I wonder how many yen did Micro$oft pay for this.
also @3 FFXIII was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive in Japan in the first place. It wasn’t a timed exclusive. Why? Let’s check the charts and see how many people would have bought the 360 version of FFXIII. A console which sold less than the PSP

not nearly as much as Phony “we don’t pay for exclusives” paid for the time-exclsuive on FlopFantasyXIII in Japan.

“I wonder how many yen did Micro$oft pay for this.”

¥0.

It doesn’t make any sense to pay for it. It’ll be nice to have, nothing more, nothing less.
