Yoshida: "About time" for Lightbox project reveal

warhawk4

SCE Worldwide studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has told Joystiq that Lightbox's first game, strongly tipped to be a Warhawk follow-up, will be announced soon.

It has been long speculated that Lightbox Interactive, founded by Warhawk director Dylan Jobe in March last year, has been working on a space-based sequel, known as Starhawk.

The title was trademarked last year, with rumours suggesting it will have MMO elements.

Nothing has been formally said on what has been happening at the developer, but Yoshida said he "was expecting that it’s about time we should update the status of what the team is doing."

"The team has been working on something new for a while," he said.

Just an itchy feeling, but that sounds a lot like a gamescom reveal to us.

Warhawk was released in August 2007 as an online-only title for PS3.
