Canada’s finally getting PlayStation Video Store

Just in case you missed it at Sony’s E3 2010 press conference, the PlayStation Network Video Store is coming to Canada on July 1.
Canadians have been waiting a while to receive this service, so this will no doubt come as great news.
The video store allows you to download movies and television shows direct to your PS3 and PSP system.
The European version of the video store launched last year.
Hooray for Canada then.

Great! So the video store comes online but there will be very few videos on it? This would be entirely due to the CRTC’s stance on Canadian content and its motherly grip on Canadian’s lives? I sure hope this will help open up the doors for Netflix and other media streaming services into Canada.

You said it launched in Europe last year.
I live in Ireland and all I can get is game trailers and 6 short films or something like that.
Is that it or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

They still have a long way trip …
first of all neither Meddle East or Eastern Europe has this service . Another service that we will such d**k before we get is Vidzone which is exclusive to Europe and they shut us by saying “we are working on bringing the service to other territories” will man it’s been a year now does it always that long ?! I doubt it a great example is Apple’s AppStore which toke less than year to get everywhere …
The conclusion is ” SONY IS A LAZY COMPANY “

Yeah, the statement that it released in Europe last year is pretty much wrong, as – If I’m not mistaken – It’s not in any of the nordic countries yet. And apparently not Belgium or Ireland either, judging by the comments.
I live in Finland and nope, no movies what-so-ever for us.
Haven’t even heard any news of a release
Sucks.

About damn time man. Why the fuck is this taking so long to release all around the world on PSN. Is it because the rest of the world are so ass tight about what they air on TV in other countries. Seriously man there’s no reason why PSN video store should not have launched day 1 everywhere in the world.
Stuff like this pisses me off because it separates the community. To many stupid laws trying to protect who? Kids? get real. Any kid can download any movie for free on the internet no matter what country he or she is in. this is an insult to the Canadian people if you ask me. Two years later after USA and they’re right next to each other WTF!
