Sucker Punch’s inFAMOUS 2 has been officially announced through Game Informer’s July cover.

According to the mag’s official site, Cole MacGrath’s makeover isn’t the only thing new. It takes place in an all new city, he gets new powers, and a enemy.

The game was teased last month through OPM Portugal.

No date yet. Look for more on it at E3 we reckon.

LittleBigPlanet2, KillZone3, Infamous 2, next week Resistance 3 ?. Sony’s getting all the “expected” sequels out the way to leave room for their unbeatable E3 lineup?

  13. The Hindle

@12 i doubt it id expect Sonys e3 to consist of Move, 3d gaming, and footage from these games they have revealed.

OMG WTF BBQ :D Oh yes this is sweeeeeeet! Damn Sony is bringing it to M$ this year and every one else at E3.

GI: Are you sure you want us to keep unveiling new games before E3?

SONY: Oh yes keep doing it cause those mother fuckers just don’t know what we really have waiting for them :D

GI: but aren’t you worried about Microsofts line up?

I love the new look, he doesn’t look dark, but I think they’re still gonna have good cole and evil cole… I always choose to be good anyway, and I like a friendly guy look.

7/10? It may be to you but many people loved it. Critics see it as a great game with lots more potential – closer to 9/10. For me, it was a 9.5.

Besides, it was always planned as a trilogy.

This game is more deserving of a sequel than many others out there. Way to downplay this announcement with your silly statements.

Back to the actual topic. I can’t wait for the sequel. I’m a bit disappointed that here’s a new city because I thought Empire City wasn’t done yet. Hopefully they can move from the old to the new smoothly. Bring on E3!

I loved Infamous…..not a greatest of all time, but good game…..I know its early to say, but a new Cole would kind of go against the story of the first

    @16 So 7 is a BAD SCORE?

People loved this game. Game was absolutely fantastic and one of the best stories last year. Even better then Uncharted 2 in some parts, especially with the ending.
There are a lot of critics who give it 8,9 or 10. But i don’t care. I just know it was an awesome game with few flaws that Sucker Punch know about and i expect something GOTY from them this year.

+ if they will have collectors edition this year, i will buy it. I’m looking forward for Infamous 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2 much more then Shitzone 3 or any other exclusive game from Sony for this year (Well Gran turismo 5 too, completely forgot about that game :) ).

    1) 7/10 is not a bad score

    2) inFamous sold well

    3) The game received more scores over 70/100 than it did below.

    4) [Opinion) The game was great and had a story that needs to be continued.

Also I hope this game has more of a comic book look whilst in-game.

The original really only looked like a comic book when you used the final lightning power.

Maybe Sony’s making space for some kind of Hands-on with the The Last Guardian
    /crosses fingers…

Damn Gek with the come back of the year LMAO! Sashioni you shouldn’t have wasted your time. You should know by now a true XBOT fears true next gen games on a true HD Console.

  36. MushroomStamp

Infamous is fantastic! Ties with UC2 for best games on PS3.

I could care less what dude looks like.. the Dark path is sooo much more fun… all that good guy precision attacking is for the birds…

The sequel is a must have

    #36 5 years ago
  37. AHA-Lambda

    @32 – yep along with resistance 3 aswell ;)

TBH tho i’m getting a bad feeling now about a lack of surprises at sonys E3. i feel like this is getting shoved out now to pave for 3d and move :(

oh well trailers, gameplay and release dates are always nice nonetheless :)

    #37 5 years ago

They spelt inFamous wrong on the GI site. Well done.

Get this. It’s been changed from inFamous to Infamous. That’s a shame cos I like it the old way. (source is

The Getaway.. -swoon- Poor mans GTA. I loved that game back in the day.

  41. No_PUDding

Anyone can say it’s a 7/10 game, if they think Crackdown in’t that good either. They are massively similar.

But I know in Mike’s case, he’s played 2 minutes of inFamous, and loves Crackdown.

    As for new Cole… BOO!!

Maybe the concept art is just dodgy – new Cole might still look like old Cole, but with dyed hair. What a pussy.

    #41 5 years ago
  42. Gekidami

Apart from being open world games Infamous and Crackdown dont have anything in common.

    #42 5 years ago
  43. No_PUDding

    Platforming heavy open world collectathons?

The onyl distinction is the more sandbox aspect of Crackdown which inFamous took several nods from.

They are extremely to me. I love them for the same reasons anyway.
