Rumor – Sonic Free Riders coming, has Natal support
Looks like SEGA has a new Sonic Racer game in the works for Natal, and it’s to be launched via XBL and announced at E3.
According to a source close to Joystiq, the game is called Sonic Free Riders and it allows players to gain weapons by reaching out to the screen and attack other racers with motion movements.
So basically you’ll be pretending to ride around on a flying vehicle and slap the air to knock around opponents.
Sounds like a normal Saturday evening down the pub to us.
Come on E3. Hurry up so we can be done will all this rumor and speculation.

Racing game is what Natal don’t need at all. You need a wheel or something in your hand (controller) or a keyboard.
It’s the same thing if you want to make a flight simulator for Natal…. and use your arms…
PS: Everytime i see news about Natal software at E3, i wonder… Will we see a big game for that device? Or we will see a bunch of XBLA, Ricochet, Party stuff? =\

Everyone can agree NATAL is a FAIL.. Even Sony during PS2 era they created the EYE toy where you only could use HANDS, so they only made few casual games for it and started to work with MOVE (yes move was in works since PS2!) You really need buttons. Even NINTENDO was looking into HANDS FREE controller, yet they ended up with buttons and remotes. Buttons are important.
Did I mention NATAL could be a PS3 title? Natal came to sony yet Sony did not want the deal, because SONY knows there is no future with it..
BUTTONS IS A MUST!
If I want to wave my hands like a dumbass in the air, I would just use my imagination.. what are we, 5 year-olds?
we are gamers Microsoft, GAMERS not kids, give us something hardcore! for fuck sakes.. you FAIL!

@1 If you absolutely need some thing to hold, to play a racing game, just pick up something that feels like a wheel and pretend… or grab your wiener and tweak and turn that as you please. Whatever floats your boat xD

Do people not realise that not all Natal games will feature motion controls only, as some will use a combination of controller and motion? Jeeze the way people go on sounds as if they think Microsoft are gonna steal everyones controllers come the launch of Natal…

@6 Cool 150$ peripheral just to use it with your hands for 5 minutes and then play with your standard controller for the entire game. Better experience…. Lol?

@6 – kinda defeats the point of what they’re marketing, doesn’t it? “YOU ARE THE CONTROLLER”, “CONTROLLERS ARE OBSTACLE” — if they do any kind of u-turn where they bring in a Move-esque device or have you using the standard XBOX controller, they’ll have failed for me.
This game sounds like it could be ok if it weren’t for the reaching out and grabbing bits.
