Story between Mass Effect 2 and ME3 to be told through DLC

masseffect216

BioWare’s Casey Hudson has said that the development team plans to release a” constant stream” of DLC  that will bridge the  story between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Speaking in an interview with VideoGamer, Hudson said that ” a bunch” of content is currently in the works, but as far as Mass Effect 3 was concerned, it will be “quite a few months” before the firm is ready to discuss it.

“We have a bunch of packs that are in the works right now,” he said. “So, for the time being there’s going to be a continued stream of DLC for people.

“We’ll start to have packs that’ll tell the story between Mass Effect 2 and 3. But beyond that we kind of have to see how people are responding to what we have and go from there.

“It probably won’t be for quite a few months that we talk about Mass Effect 3″.

The second piece of DLC for Mass Effect 2, Overlord, is slated for release next month.

i’d prefer an addon personnally . i’m not fan at all of those mediocre small sized events .

Well that aint necessarily mediocre (they were at least better than DA’s) but seriously where do you go with content lasting less than an hour ?

I hear ya, I’m totally sick of all these mediocre DLC’s. They should release an addon with 10 hours+

You know, like in the old days.

This is exactly what I’m confused about. I loved it when games like Oblivion (for example) brought out its addon packs. However, when Bethesda developed the dlc for Fallout 3 they brought out the tiny DLC packs instead (Why?). I hate tiny DLC, it’s really annoying.

I’ll wait till you make an all-in-one version with all the DLC within the original game like you did with the first Mass Effect. Other than that, you can keep your DLC instead of nickel and dime the community.

Those are my thoughts and you may disagree, which is cool. If you want to purchase it, have fun. :) Not me though.

Yeah, the ‘bitty’ DLC stuff gets on my nerves too. I can’t go back and play games for a couple of hours at a time, I need to go back and play for a good while. Save them up and do an expansion!

The one thing that mass effect 2 was missing was some interspecies breast feeding

+1 for expansion packs over DLC. Blizzard had the right idea with its StarCraft, Diablo 2 and WarCraft 3 expansions – that’s the formula to follow, IMHO.
