NPD April 2010 software: Conviction tops with 486K units sold

Conviction

The monthly NPD numbers are out, and on the software side, Xbox 360 exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction was tops with 486K units sold, followed by Pokemon Soul/Silver in second place, moving 242.9K units.

Over all, sales for software dropped 22 percent to $398.5M, and only two titles released in April landed in the top ten – Conviction and SSFIV.

Here’s how the rest stacked up, with NPD apparently, withholding the actual figures for 6-10:

  1. Splinter Cell: Conviction (360) – 486.1K
  2. Pokemon Soul/Silver (DS) – 242.9K
  3. New Super MArio Bros. Wii (Wii) – 200.3K
  4. Pokemon Heart/Gold (DS)- 192.6K
  5. God of War III (PS3) – 180.3K
  6. Wii SPorts Resort with WMP (Wii)
  7. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (360)
  8. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Wii) (130,000)
  9. Just Dance (Wii) (144K+ per Nintendo)
  10. Super Street Fighter IV (PS3)

Great showing for Splinter Cell: Conviction. I’m surprised to see Battlefield: Bad Company 2 still selling so well on the XBox 360. Last month it was the 4th most played game on XBox Live behind Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3 and even trumped by World at War.

GOWIII sold way more copies in first month then Spliner Cell.. bit disappointing for such a good game.. not to mention i thought all Xbox xclusives sell more then PS3 exclusives. Good thing its coming to PS3, because they deserve more sales.

Pretty low sales for everything really. April was a shitty month for releases.

It’s not just shitty month, it’s just everyone predicted that God Of War 3 will give PS3 hardware boost in US.

The irony is that it is now even worse.

Good to see God of War hanging in there for another month.
