Microsoft’s E3 events to be broadcast live on MTV Networks

Thursday, 13th May 2010 21:57 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

MTV Networks has announced that it will air Microsoft’s press event and the Natal Experience during E3 this year.

Natal’s on deck first come June 13 at 3.30pm EST, and the event will be repeated later in the evening at 9pm EST via Nick at Nite, mtvU, MTV Hits and Logo.

Cirque du Soleil will be performing at the event, so, expect a lot of contortionists, acrobats, and scantily clad performers.

Microsoft’s Media Briefing will air live on Spike TV Monday, June 14 at 1.30pm EST.

While not much is known about what’s to be shown, we’re betting our best mare that Gears of War 3 will be on hand.

If not, hopefully Epic won’t try and collect on that assumption.

Both events will also be broadcast live on GameTrailers.

More through MTV Multiplayer.

    So wait, does this mean the general public can view Microsofts E3 presentation live on MTV? If so, that’s awesome! Be nice if they do the same for Nintendo and Sony.

    That is just about the lamest unveiling ever.

    What the hell does cirque de soleil have to do with games? Shouldn’t they be focusing attention on their product instead of distracting everybody with a bunch of flexible hippies?

    @3 Yes. It says so.

    @4 Absolutely.

    I can’t understand this. WHY you need to RUIN show for GAMES with some circus? I don’t get it. WHY you need to historically change the show with some FREAKSHOW!?
    E3 is for gaming, games and for GAMERS.

    I understand that Microsoft want to hype Natal like a Next Generation Jesus Christ, but why not to give Natal a chance to shine it for itself? To show that this thing works.

    I just don’t get it. It’s entertaining of course, but with what purpose? How it’s going to generate sales? People will talk not about how NATAL is awesome, but they will talk how Cirque du Soleil will be awesome.

    Thats stupid.

    “The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly known as E3, is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. (с)”

    @4&7 Agree.

    Must of missed the part where gamers were interested in circus and shit. Seriously WTF?! MS using this to hype the shit out of the product cause the end product probably isn’t that good so will use hype and glamourous dazzle shows like this to sell it.

    This screams “We are aiming this at casuals i.e families”. Within a year 360 will be a shovelware graveyard.

    The irony is that Microsoft will make official E3 presentation on Monday June 14th at 1:30 EST and Microsoft’s Natal event starts on June 15th after Nintendo and Sony Press conferences. So they basically trying to overshadow Nintendo, Sony’s press conferences with this move.

    Cheesy marketing campaign. Playing dirty as always :D

    And all of a sudden it becomes crystal clear just why Microsoft banned journos from filming/taking photos at the Natal event. :roll:

    Edit: Wait, that’s wrong Erthazus – the Natal event’s on the 13th, not the 15th – the night before Microsoft’s keynote, not after it. I see the original story’s mucked that up as well. :-)

    Well, either they’ve changed it without telling us or GameTrailers has it wrong. It was definitely Sunday the 13th when it was announced.
