NCSoft trademarks City of Heroes 2

NCSoft has registered a trademark for City of Heroes 2, as discovered by Superannuation.

The filing was made on April 4, which was on Sunday. You can see it here.

It’s the first real mention of a sequel to the superhero MMO since the original’s release  five years ago this month, with over 15 major updates to its name.

The game is now being handled by the firm’s Paragon Studios after the firm bought the rights from Cryptic Studios, who are now on Champions Online and Star Trek Online.

NCSoft’s also released City of Villans, which runs in parallel with City of Heroes, although no mention of a sequel for that has risen yet.

In all honesty, who cares. They’re all pretty bad.

Dc online is bad? How so? Is it released yet? The first City of Heroes was SWEET.

@3, I must have terrible taste, then, I enjoyed a lot of City of Heroes when it first came out for the half year or so before WoW made it to Europe, and since quitting Wow, I’m greatly enjoying Champions Online whenever I feel like dabbling in MMO land again.

That’s too many superheroes games imo , between champions and most of all the two big franchises , Marvel and DC getting their own out .
Most comics fans wuld rather play their creation in their loved universe .

The original COH’s safety net was being the first and only superhero and villains game , it’s load of customisation , and the noticeable absence of both Marvel and DC .

They could have kept the support of the original community at least , if the original dev studio was onboard .
