It has been revealed that Will Wright's currently at work on a television series, according to documents dug up by IGN.

Currently titled "The Creation Project", the show involves audience participation regarding the creation of a TV series and teams Wright with producer Albie Hecht, who is the former president of Spike TV and Nickelodeon.

How it will work, according to the planning documents revealed, is that folks will submit ideas for a show via online and mobile devices. Users then discuss the submissions and vote for the best with the winner being granted a two half hour episode produced by the duo.

A "StoryMaker Engine" has been designed by Wright allowing users make storyboards to accompany the ideas. They can use pre-existing images or uploaded ones created themselves.

Documents suggest that the the series could premiere by the end of the year, with the online component starting a bit earlier.

IGN notes that "this was all in the early stages and it's likely elements of what we saw could be dramatically different by the time The Creation Project is on the air".

Wright has been a bit quite since the release of Spore in 2008, especially after his departure from Maxis.

During a surprise appearance at GDC this month, Wright revealed that he was "working on a lot of secret projects" he could not talk about at the moment.

One can only assume that this was one of 'em.
