Report: LittleBigPlanet 2 confirmed, as is Move support

A Sony marketing manager in Benelux has confirmed the existence of LittleBigPlanet 2, according to this Tweakers report.
Here’s a machine translation from the site’s native Dutch:
In an earlier video appeared online, talk Folkert Langeveld of Sony Computer Entertainment Benelux Move on the PlayStation and the strategy that Sony uses for the motion controller as well as possible in the market to turn. He mentions some titles here that will be suitable for Move.
Most notable is the decision of the marketer that Little Big Planet 2 will support the Move. Sony has not been hurried on a sequel to the platform game from Media Molecule. The ruling appears to indicate that Langeveld Little Big Planet 2 already in development. Sony took earlier this year on development studio Media Molecule. They were responsible for the first part of Little Big Planet.
Hate to say we told you so, but we did. We’re asking for comment.

If they are going to do it. Its not going to be great with its first fanbase.
But for Move support it is the best thing to do.

If their gonna release a sequel their gonna need to add quite a lot of new features because otherwise i just get the impression that it could have be done as an exspansion pack but they just want a first party big name Move title on the shelf so it will be pretty much the same just with Move support.

Maybe it will become more of a story driven platformer like Mario, instead of a massive creation tool.
I agree it needs to be different, but the level creation thing is such a big part of LittleBig it needs to stay in some form or another.

I BET the making of LBP 2 is AGAINST the wishes of Media Molecule.

I wouldn’t mind a sequel actually. Though I would prefer it if the sequel were a story mode only affair and the current version gets a few more updates.

I feel this is stupid. Buy a dev team, and you make their first, official game under your umbrella a sequel? Come on. Building a brand is one thing, but we already know MM can do LBP.
Let the studio grow creatively.

Agree with Erthazus – it could be the same style and play/create/share ethos applied to a different genre.

@6 no. Sony never will force anyone to make a game they want. Its their politics with everyone since PS1 era.
They just give budget to some 1st party company and designers and devs think on what they want to develop.

Still doubt it!
Why bother patching LBP with this, if they are making a sequel?
I don’t think we will see an LBP2 anytime soon.

Sony have were trying to buy MM since they started working with them. They saw the talent and they wanted it with themselves. As for the sequel, I don’t think they were to keen on it but Sony offered them too much money for them to refuse. And the contract was signed a long tome ago.
