Analyst: EA aiming to get 2 million subs for The Old Republic

EA are looking to get 2 million subscribers when Star: Wars: The Old Republic releases next year, according to one analyst.

Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia recently was at an EA meeting, where despite “earnings are somewhat depressed due to ongoing expenses of the Star Wars MMO, management has high hopes for this and believes 2M+ subs is possible.”

Bhatia added 1 million subs would be the point where the BioWare MMO would be in the break-even area, but 2 million is the goal EA is looking towards.

BioWare boss Ray Muzyka told VG247 at GDC last week that once you finish the game, there are end game “plans” in place.

The Old Republic is set to release after March 2011.

Thanks, IG.
