Greenberg: 360 “offers more exclusives” than PS3

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has hit back at recent comments made by Sony on exclusive 3rd-party deals made by the Seattle firm for 360 the only way it can: by saying it “offers more exclusives than” the black behemoth.

Shit + fan?

Greenberg was, however, still full of praise for the PS3, saying there was “great games” coming to the system.

There’s no other platform that offers more exclusives,” he said, speaking to CVG. “Obviously there are going to be great games on the PlayStation 3, and we respect that, but our goal is to have the most blockbuster titles and the most exclusives and I think we clearly have that this year.”

Last night, SCEA VP of PR Rob Dyer started everything when he said the firm was catching up on third-parties, as well as properly laying into Microsoft’s lack of first-parties.

So, when is Nintendo getting involved to make this a triple threat?

Funny how his comment includes the quote “this year” but it’s not included in your headline. I guess that would be less sensational and inciteful and we wouldn’t want that now would we?

Their GOAL is to have more Blockbuster games? We all know that not all Blockbuster games are good.. Just look at the movie industry, only 2-5 out of 100s of movies came out to be really good. Same with Xbox 360 games..

“the most blockbuster titles and the most exclusives”

Yeah They May Have More (Even If It’s Mostly Shit Games) But That’s Why The 360′s Exclusives Win GOTY Every Year… Oh Yeah That’s Right They Don’t, The PS3 Wins GOTY Every Year & GoW 3 Will Be 2010′s GOTY, No Question.

The 360 can have more exclusives all it wants, its about the quality the exclusives are and the playstation 3 is far ahead on quality, if they can make fable 3 even better than 1 & 2 then i think they have a chance of winning GOTY, but up against gow3 its unlikely.

No They Don’t Even Have The Slightest Chance, GoW 3 WILL Win GOTY.. So You Might As Well Get Over It, The ONLY Game That Could Even Compete With GoW 3 Would Be The New Twisted Metal, Another PS3 Exclusive.. But They Might Be Saving Twisted Metal For Next Year & If So Twisted Metal WILL Win GOTY In 2011.

Again, what has that got to do with this topic?

Greenberg is claiming an adundance of exclusive titles over and above what Sony has.

Taking into account what you have mentioned, it seems to be the case that Microsoft (according to Greenberg) have more exclusives than Sony EVEN THOUGH they have closed some internal studios.

So, again, how does what you say refute what Greenberg claims? Assuming, that is, that that is what you were hinting at..

@36 Many of us have both systems… some of us have ALL systems… money isn’t the issue. I have 4 close friends that all own both systems…. all 4 of them play the 360 way more than the PS3… and if you were to ask them why.. they would say 2 things.. Xbox Live is better and they like the 360 controller better.. well.. 1 of them prefers the ps3 controller.

Me personally.. could give a shit less about “systems”.. I prefer games and the network that supports the best implementation of those games. for past 2 months I play on the PC mostly, except for Console exclusives like Darksiders. I prefer the 360 controller with it’s real analog triggers and size that isn’t made for tiny people.

I also find games such as MW2 REQUIRE voice for you to be any good and have ANY team coordination. 360 has the advantage there because EVERY 360 comes with a headset.. PS3 does not. I find most gamers on the ps3 do NOT use voice. which is a HUGE drawback to my enjoyment.

Decided to do some fact checking. Game of the Year is pretty spread out amongst the different news sources through the years actually. And on top of that, many, if not most, are multiplatform titles. Uncharted 2 did take the most GotY awards for 2009 though. Regardless, my money on the 2010 GotY is gonna be a multiplatform title. Wanna put in an early nomination for Enslaved. If it lives up to its high concept, it’ll definitely be a worthy contender.

Do you actually own a Ps3? becasue if you dont how do you know you dont like Psn? Comments like that are just a form of fanboysim and i play Mw 2 a lot without a mike and my kill to death ratio is 1.22 as ive killed 1k more then i have died.

That proves you dont need a mike to be any good at Mw. As the Playstation controller is award winning id say that casts doubt on it being just for small people youre no better then the guy above.

Xbox live is superb but so is Psn i suggest you give it a try with games like Uncharted 2 and Kz .

  42. MushroomStamp

@41 yes.. I have all systems. So i know exactly how PSN works.. from personal experience. This is not fanboyism.. this is FACT.. Voice coordination of teams is superior. You can never be better than a voice coordinated team. To think otherwise proves you have NO CONCEPT of team work.

(simple example for those that think they are better than what they are) “JOHN, 2 guys are coming around the corner on your backside”… BAM

Very similar to the way you can’t outrun police.. because they have radios

So its offical fact that Xbox live is better then Psn because from where im standing its just your opinion. As for never being better then a team who use mikes ive played against teams who use mikes and they spend more time talking and chatting shit then concentrating on the game.

  46. MushroomStamp

NO.. the fact that EVERY 360 comes with a voice device makes Live better. That and Cross game chatting which PS3 still doesn’t support.

@44 Bullshit! Every game on the PS3 I have played, never more than 1/2 of the people have Mic’s. Mostly because people have to pay additional for a Mic, the majority don’t buy them.

  47. Gekidami

Seeing as any bluetooth device works with the PS3 i doubt Sony really see the need to pack one with each console. You got a mobile phone? Chances are you’ve got a head-set that’ll work with the PS3.
Theres also the fact that the official PS3 mic isnt cheap, and for cause; Its one of the best bluetooth devices you can find that also works for mobile phones and PC’s. The 360 one on the other hand… Well, lets be honnest; Its a cheap piece of crap.

Ofcourse i myself still think Sony should pack them with the console. But i can understand why they might not want to.

    #47 5 years ago
  48. RGW1982

If You Think That Makes Live Better You Have Issues, I Only Associate With PS3 Users That Have Headsets, The Fact You Have No Friends On The PS3 Must Be The Real Reason For Your “Fanboyism” Opinion.. Also Why Would I Need Cross Game Chat If My Friends & I, Are Playing The Same Game? It’s Not Like Were Playing MW2 Where You Hear All Them Kids Screaming, It Really Isn’t A Requirement For The PS3 Although 6 Person Cross Game Chatrooms Are In The Works By SONY Anyways.

@43 Wasn’t trying to reply directly to you. Just adding material to the conversation. You’re just a troll. Though, just for fun, Grand Theft Auto IV had the most GotY awards in 2008, not Little Big Planet. Hop back to 2007, Nintendo dominated that year with Super Mario Galaxy. 2006, Gears of War was on top, which means a point to Microsoft. If anything, Sony just got on top for 2009, considering GTAIV is multiplatform. But you really don’t care about fact so much as you just want to argue.

Moving back on topic and away from that guy though, overall I see the era of exclusive games starting to slip away a bit. As long as there are first party titles, naturally it will never totally die out, but many companies seem to be less concerned with offering exclusive rights to anyone. More platforms means more sales, speaking broadly. Square Enix is likely going to see a big return for their multiplatform release of FFXIII just because they can now get sales from people who don’t own a sony console this time.

And I fully support the loss of exclusive titles. With that practice out of the way, people will be able to buy consoles based solely on what the console developers are offering in terms of hardware, player services like PSN and Live, and first party titles. That’s when things will really take off. Once a developer can’t depend on a contract with a third party game studio to decide their sales, the focus will really be on what their consoles can offer. Capitalism in favor of the buyers! In a console generation where one game is sixty bucks, I like that concept.

#47 maybe in Europe.. but here less than 1% of Cell users use a headset. I know I hate them because ALL of them sound like crap in a tin can. I can always tell when i’m talking to someone using a headset. Regardless, the MS mic might be “cheap” but that’s a good thing.. it still sounds better than any Conversation on the PS3 I have had (yes I have a BT headset for the PS3). Cheap is a good thing becasue dogs chew them and kids step on them.. and the fact that you can replace them for $10 is fantastic.

All I gotta say is he is right 360 has more exclusives, and not only more but better exclusives than PS3 such as Halo, Gears, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead…

Not to mention companies usually provide DLC exclusively or exclusively for a limited time on the 360 first…

And the 360 has been on top since they have both been on the market, and now that the numbers finally pass the 360 the pussies over @ Sony decide to open their mouth but I didn’t hear shit before that and Microsoft wasn’t shoving it in their face while they were on top, and probably will be back on top next month so it just shows the immaturity of Sony and the need to prove something…kind of like a dude with a small dick…end of story

Now Your Just Back At Quantity vs Quality, Unfortunately For The 360 Quality Wins Everytime.

The 360 Was Released 16 Months Before The PS3, But You Have To Remember The Dreamcast Was Released Early Last Gen And Was On Top But Look Where It Ended Up, The 360 Is Going The Way Of The Dreamcast.

Actually Mushroom i own all 3 systems, and “real world experience” shows me that everyone on LIVE is barely audible unless you’re wearing the headset yourself -aka sticking a speaker right up to your ear-, this isnt the case on PS3 where you can actually hear more people properly thanks to better quality mics.
As for your “hater” comment, from you the irony is hilarious.

For what it is worth both systems have great exclusive content. xb360 has more, but most of it is a shooter of somesort or another. PS3 exclusives have more range and are vaired more.

But comments from both PR mouth pieces are stupid and out of line, and fully expected. And until their respectives systems can outsell the Wii on a regualer basses…they should both sit down and shut up.

No matter how good their exclsuives are, they are still outsold by Wii Play, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart. ‘Nuff said.

Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, LBP, GT5, Resistance Fall Of Man, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Warhawk, Demon’s Souls.. I Could Go All Day & They’re All 100 Times Better Then Any 360 Exclusives, It’s Called Quality vs Quantity, 360 Has More But The PS3 Has Better Quality Games, Period.

GoW 3 Is Just Another PS3 Exclusive Which Once Again Destroys Any 360 Exclusive, This Is Not Opinion As Uncharted 2 Clearly Showed Everyone Last Year, It Is Indeed A Fact. ;)

Heavy rain isn’t out yet so doesn’t count.. from buzz.. i’m not impressed with playing a movie. LBP.. umm cute for a weekend then boring.. GT5 for fucks sake.. Keep that boring piece of crap… Resistance was good but not Fantastatic, Motostorm.. What an average piece of crap… Warkhawk.. YAWN. Demon souls was good.. but didn’t set the chart on fire.. Your such a pathetic fanboy your biggest argument is “what’s coming”

Gek… WTF are talking about.. of course the speaker is up to your ear.. you make no sense.. Why would want it anywhere else.. I’m not a fanboy, I like all my systems.. I just like to shut down your 12 year old mentality when you talk about how superior PS3 is.. when.. umm.. its not.. Not by sales, not by attachment rate, not by online service, not by any measure is it the pinnacle of gaming that your juvenile mentality makes it out to be… You have attacked me for months with me NEVER having made comments to or about your immature ass unless you started ranting about shit first. You, BDH, RGW are all in the same pathetic league..hmmm. .maybe you are all the same douchebag.
