Square Enix registers Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Square Enix has registered Deus Ex: Human Revolution as a trademark, according to a filing found by Joystiq.
The trademark was made in Europe, although what its actual meaning is currently unknown. Related to Deus Ex 3? Maybe.
The last we heard of that was back in November, when developer Eidos Montreal confirmed Square Enix was doing the cinematics for the action RPG.
If it’s a separate entry in the series, it could be the title Square president Yoichi Wada confirmed at the Montreal Games Summit last year, when he announced a collaboration with the firm and the Montreal studio, its first since buying Eidos last April.
Deus Ex 3 currently has no date yet at present. It’s due for a release on PC, 360 and PS3.

I thought that Deus Ex, with all the augmentations, was about human *evolution* not revolution…

Shh, Gheritt, you’ll give them ideas.
I would be quite interested in what a turn-based Deus Ex game would look like, though.

@ BDH: Deus Ex 3 PC exclusivity rumored, doubted, dismissed.
So there you have it.

No, PC only.
Edit – Actually, I’d probably prefer that given the horrors that the console version of IW brought upon us.

meh, aleast thief 4 is pc only, yea I hear the last deus ex2 sucked bad because it was a console port.I hear it was dumb down really bad. Depending what the game devs say and reviews i might skip this one agin.
them consoles reck alot of good tittles and genres for pc gamers. I blame the mainstream media big coperations, like sony, mircosoft for that.

Yes it’s the console that does it bdh. Recks all them good pc games.
Dex2 was designed all great and everything, see it was designed on the pc, but when they put the disc into the xbox, well, the console laughed and decided to display a totally different game to that what was crafted. Sly old stoatty consoles.

As much as I hate to find myself agreeing (even partially) with bdh, a lot of the problems with IW stem from the fact that it was designed to work well on consoles. If you’ve ever played it (and the original) then you’ll find it quite easy to see examples of it.
Harvey Smith covers some of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGIdYl2oN74
Ironically in “making the game more accessible”, they killed its sales potential.

so it might finally come out now?…or show a teaser at the end of this year, a trailer next year, then it’s another Duke Nukem…but square enix isn’t poor, so i’m sure that won’t be the case….right?!
