US market research firm Nielsen has claimed that 52 percent of PSP owners are female.

According to more number-crunching, 49 percent of Wii owners are female, and 45 percent of total active gamers are also female.

Nielsen also deduced that 73 percent of US homes own a device specifically used for gaming, with 54 percent owning either a console or handheld.

Additionally, the media-tracking firm also ranked the top game consoles by total usage minutes, and found that 360 made up 23.1 percent, PS2 20.4 percent, and Wii 19.0 percent.

Last year, PS2 was on top with usage minutes.
