Warner’s confirmed it’s to publish the now-announced Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, not Square Enix Europe.

“We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world,” said WBIE boss Martin Tremblay.

“Rocksteady has taken Batman to a new level in the video game space and we are committed to delivering a sequel the fans will love.”

It’s a worldwide deal. Unlucky, Herr Square. You’ll just have to settle with FFXIII, instead.

PR after the break.

    I noticed the Warner logo at the end of the trailer yesterday and wondered if they’d decided to ‘pull rank’ on the franchise now that it’s a proven success. Good deal for Rocksteady, I’d imagine – one less level of management.

    The 3 villains ive spotted so far in the teaser are a poster with Two Face on it, The Penguins club, and Black Masks actual name so i think those 3 will be in it.

    That’s a bit of a kick in the nuts tbh. If they keep this sort of thing up other publishers will stop using their IP.

    hope they just fix the combat a little. The game was awesome though and the voice acting could give UC2 a run for its money.

    Any guesses to what the plot of the sequel is guys?

    What was wrong with the combat? I thought it was almost perfect in that respect.

    Maybe its just me but I a had a tough time getting use to the combo system. After a certain amount of combos the throws and takedowns won’t register for me. Hence the lack of the platinum trophy for the game :(

    That’s weird. Never had anything like that happen to me.

    @hunam

    wich would be great if they indeed stopped .
    Arkham , Mmos and the Darkness are the exception so far of the last 15 years .

    Comic books games and games for movie adaptations of comic books (pfiuu) have been generally mediocre , or even crappy .

    It’s indeed time Marvel/Disney and DC/Warner starts publishing and developping those games on their own to ensure it’s quality .

    Wich they finally seems to start doing , at a slow pace .

    ps : and weird indeed , i’ve mostly seen among the few complaints toward the game , that it’s too easy , and that it basically do the cool stuff for you .
