Rumour: Target ad confirms imminent 360 price cut

360targetad

Engadget’s running a couple of shots of “next week’s” Target ad, which shows the Xbox 360 60Gb Pro listed at $250, as well as the 120Gb Elite at $300.

This is now looking certain to happen this week. Back-stage chatter in the UK is backing all this up, so keep those peepers peeled.

Didn’t they increase prices and cut the included components a few weeks ago?

No, that’s the plan for the future.

@seregrail7: no, that’s only for the UK, but not for the rest of the planet. Blame the laughably weak pound if you must.

That story sounds wrong to me.
Here in Ireland the 60 gig is retailing at 229 Euro and Elite at 279.
It has been that price for ages.
Here is a link.

Fair point PT.
Why then is the PS3 selling at 299 Euro and 299 Dollars?

I believe the answer to that came in a leaked Sony memo.

“Europeans will pay it, even if they have to work three jobs… plus we know they like it up the arse.”

@reask Well, there’s lots of stuff to do with flucuating currency and the fact the Euro price includes tax but the main reason that the ps3 is much cheaper in the US is they’ve sold a lot less there and wish to sell a lot more. In Europe, ps3 sales are relatively healthy so they can keep the price a bit higher… They’re still losing money on the euro sales though, but less than the american sales.

“but the main reason that the ps3 is much cheaper in the US is they’ve sold a lot less there and wish to sell a lot more. In Europe, ps3 sales are relatively healthy so they can keep the price a bit higher…”

So did they know this from the start? It always has been the same. :p

Mai non Syrok.

Ps3 launch price in us was 599 dollars. I certainly didn’t pay 599 pounds for mine…

The Euro price was the same in euros but since then the dollar has tumbled against the euro.

Well, I was only talking about the Euro price.
