Former Eidos execs to lead Square Enix Europe

Square Enix and Eidos announced that former Square Enix executive Doug Bone is the new sales director at Square Europe and Eidos’ Jon Brooke is now the marketing director.

Larry Sparks, still VP of Eidos, will handle Square’s Japanese titles in Europe while Mike Sherlock, co-Chief Executive Officer, will handle marketing, pubic relations ans sales former CEO Phil Rogers.

“The combined expertise of our companies, means we have an extremely talented team in the UK, a team who under Mike Sherlock’s leadership I am sure will deliver results and drive our business forwards,” said Rogers.

There will be some staff loss, but the company has promised to ‘minimize this wherever possible and offer support to employees directly affected’.

    Yes, and they also promised to retain the Eidos name for the European side of the company, and look how quickly they went back on that one.

    The name still stays the publishing part goes away, it will all go through Square if Eidos handled their company better they wouldn’t be in a position to be bought out.
