Tales of Monkey Island – gameplay footage

takesofmonkeyisland

There’s a gameplay video of next week’s Tales of Monkey Island after the break, and very good it looks too. It’s out on Tuesday.

For clarity, this is a new Monkey Island adventure for PC and WiiWare. The upcoming 360 remake is The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. Which will also release on PC.

Confused? Amazing. Buy it anyway.

prefer the original art style, 2D FTW!

Good grief, not another 2D fanatic-and-relic-of-the-past.

Give it a week and the Internet will be covered with “I WANK OVER TWO DIMENSIONS, I NEED NO THIRD!”, bloody hell. Monkey Island had to bring them out from under their rocks, ready to fill the World with their whines.

Well, prefer the original art style, play the wooden, static characters of the ancient games again, and allow the rest of us to enjoy the shiny new games!

That comment number 12 was so full of douchery.

And I am extremely excited about both games, cannot wait.

“Well, prefer the original art style, play the wooden, static characters of the ancient games again, and allow the rest of us to enjoy the shiny new games!”

Honesty? The visual style of Curse of Monkey Island had far more charisma and personality than the graphics in this game.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Tell Tale games, but these really lack life and personality. And the script is horrendous compared to past Monkey Island games.
