Serious Sam remake heading to XBLA

Eurogamer’s reporting that Serious Sam will release for XBLA this summer.
The ageing shooter’s to cost 1,200 Microsoft Points.
Called Serious Sam HD, the game will “re-imagine” The First Encounter. It’s been written by original developer Croteam.
Which is awesome. No question.

Good times! This was quite an underrated shooter. In a time when everyone in FPSs was going for grit and realism, this just threw that out the window in favour of balls to the walls fun. Hope it has online co-op.

Great stuff, I may put my hand in my pocket for this.
Fingers crossed for a PSN release though.

The original captured much more of the essence of Doom than Doom 3 ever did for me.

yeah, it was an amusing game. albeit once I’ve beaten the first one I never felt the urge to play any Serious Sams again.
