Call of Duty: World at War has now sold more than 11 million units, Activision’s confirmed.

The game launched in November 2008.

“These outstanding feats would have never been possible without the continued dedication and support from all of the loyal Call of Duty fans. For that, we at Treyarch and Activision would like to extend our sincerest thank you,” said the two firms in a blog post.

What he really means is “These outstanding feats would have never been possible without us using a engine far beyond anything we ever could create ourselves.”

Say what? The quality of a game does not come down to the engine at all. It’s not that great an engine if I’m being honest. Dunno why the IW fanboys disliike Treyarch so much, especially as CoD2:BRO is a very good game, just CoD3 was rushed. WaW while not world changing as CoD4 is a solid shooter that flows very well, and the DLC maps are pretty amazing.

I liked it… once they fixed all the bugs, broken spawns, authentication error, and whatnot.

(In real people talk). Thank you for buying our shit game that was just a poor attempt to copy COD4 with WWII paint splashed on it. We also would like to say thank you for buying us those new Ferrari’s we’ve always wanted. We’ll give you another shit game about WWII next year after we’ve learned what special tricks infinity ward has to offer in MW2 so we can copy their greatness again. Thank you and have a nice life in a bad economy, love Treyarch.
